Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I am more of a directive therapist who enjoys providing insight and solutions to help you change your behavior. I want you to learn the skills in order for you to reduce symptoms, so you don't have to be in therapy forever. I believe it is helpful for you to understand why you do what you do to build self-compassion while making changes simultaneously.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Well, to be candid... family dynamics brought me to this field. Taking care of everyone's emotions when I was a little girl and trying to therapize everyone I was in a relationship with. Thank goodness for healthy boundaries!
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I use a lot of humor and real-life examples. I love being able to call my client's out in a funny way once the relationship has been developed. I use personal examples and metaphors to help you understand intricate concepts and normalize behaviors. I am only human and can check myself on my own bullshit too.
