In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
As a highly sensitive person, I am aware of a lot of sensory information and attune deeply to my clients. I tend to slow down and invite people in the beginning of the session to notice if they are comfortable, if they need to adjust their seating position, or want some guided relaxation to help them feel more present.

Education
Cleveland State University, Master of Social Work, Clinical Social Work, 2024
Work HistoryI am a highly sensitive person with a keen sense of what feels right and life-affirming as well as unjust or belittling. I believe in the importance of living in a way that is true to our needs and values, taking right action in the world, and supporting people in clarifying and speaking their truth. I also love to support people's creativity and draw my inspiration from art and spending time in nature.
My former life as an academic folklorist involved interviewing people about their childhood memories in Jerusalem, a city I used to visit in my childhood. This work made me aware of the healing potential of being present, paying attention and staying open. Then around 2017, I learned about Focusing-oriented therapy, a way of listening to myself and others that felt like a soft way of coming home. This life-affirming practice led me to pursue a social work degree at Cleveland State University, where I interned in a maternal depression unit of a community agency, and at the student counseling center. I loved working with young adults as they navigated transitions to a new setting, life phase, and sometimes a new country. I have also worked as a nature guide and qi gong and yoga instructor, primarily with women in their 60s and over. I love and continue to practice body work, which I often incorporate in sessions with clients.
My clients are my teachers. I learn and grow with them as we work through family difficulties, social anxiety, autism, gender identities, trauma, and relationship issues. Their resilience, humor, and creativity taught me that supporting people's strengths and growing capacities is a big part of the healing journey.
