Get To Know Me
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I infuse a lot of myself and my personality into my work. I am a very creative person, so I like to incorporate creativity into my work whether that involves thinking in new ways, using artistic interventions, or working with my therapy dog. I also consider myself very genuine and real. I am not overly formal in my work and strive to develop a therapeutic relationship that feels warm, open, and congruent to who we both are.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My style is very relational. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a crucial element of meaningful therapy, so I always strive to create a strong, genuine relationship with my clients. I am non-judgmental, affirming, and validating which clients say makes them feel heard, valued, and respected in our work. My style is warm, empathic, and genuine allowing clients to feel safe enough to be their full selves and challenge themselves in their work with me. I work from a dynamic/interpersonal lens informed by a feminist/multicultural framework meaning that I strive to help clients understand their patterns, where they came from, how society may have influenced those patterns, and how we can adjust these patterns to help clients live the life they want to live. I am affirming of all of identities and trauma-informed.
