Get To Know Me
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
Whether you're dealing with stress, navigating a significant life change, or seeking support for deeper emotional issues, I'm here to help. We will work together, to set goals, and to uncover your strengths to build a life that feels true to you. The goal is: less “This again?!” and more “Wait… I handled that differently.” I also utilize quarterly clinical assessments for measurement based change of your self-reported symptoms.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I tend to be laid back, non-judgmental and will provide a calm, safe atmosphere ready to address whatever it is you bring to the table from an anti-oppressive lens. Compassion, empathy, and authenticity form the foundation my practice. I believe in fostering a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship that promotes healing and growth. I also tend to adopt a gentle confrontation style. Sessions are held online using HIPAA compliant platform so you can stay in the comfort of your own home. Pajama pants & cozy blanket encouraged.
If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
Rising Strong by Brene Brown. We all have a story to tell. Our power comes from owning our story as we are the authors of our own lives. I truly, deeply believe we are all functioning out in the world in the best ways we know how. The goal, then, is to elevate and expand our awareness to increase our level of functioning to better the world.

Education
University of Texas at Austin, Master of Social Work, 2012 — I graduated with a focus on gerontology (GRACE), clinical counseling and mental health interventions.
Work HistoryIn the first ten years of my career, I worked with homeless Veterans to move them into permanent, supportive housing, to build a foundation of safety and then to address their traumas once they felt ready and safe. Together, we healed war traumas, family of origin traumas, racial traumas, childhood traumas, trauma from being unhoused, etc.
During Covid in 2020, I witnessed the astronomical spike in depression and anxiety as we were forced to be isolated so I started my virtual private practice to aid in bridging the gap in services for mental health support for the general public. I also provide pro-bono trauma therapy to victims of crime referred from the Austin Police Department. I'm thrilled to open my doors more to civilians & anyone carrying a heavy load (Yes, that includes you over-thinkers and perfectionists). Occasionally, you will see an emotional support pup, Pemba, walk in the background or wag his tail for you in support.
