Work HistoryI have worked in various settings including a middle school, a nonprofit community center, and a residential treatment facility for co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. I spent a year as a Student Counseling Intern at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where I worked with clients who were dealing with chronic pain and illness. At the Osher Center we utilized an integrative approach to mental health through a foundation of mindfulness. As a school based therapist I worked with children and parents who were coping with major life issues such as cancer diagnoses, death of a loved one, or anxiety. It was my time spent at Gilda's Club Middle Tennessee that grew my interest in working with those living with cancer and those who love someone living with cancer. I spent a year as a Program Manager before transitioning to a group facilitator for members diagnosed with late-stage cancer.
