Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist started during 10 years of working in the government contracting field. I decided to follow my dream in becoming a therapist after several life events. I was inspired to choose this profession, as I have always wanted to help people, and find my purpose and passion.
What does a first session with you look like?
The first session with me looks like getting to know you and what your goals are. I ask a lot of questions, so I can understand the presenting issues and collaborate with you on your personal goals of therapy and additional goals that would be helpful. This is a 60 minute intake session.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
If there was one thing I wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, would be I do not judge. I feel people shy away from therapy due to fear of judgment. I have found people are afraid to be vulnerable, as they may have not been able to express themselves growing up or are currently in an unhealthy relationship.
