Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Being a first-generation child, I saw how the stigma of mental health impacted my family; it became my life's goal to help those in my community become open to mental health and begin healing generational trauma. I strive to always be supportive and to be a cheerleader, especially when others do not have the same emotional insight.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I'm not the most conventional therapist; I like to be honest and open with my clients while also being supportive and empathetic to the concerns they bring. I want all my clients to feel comfortable and safe working with me, so I do my best to make my practice as open and nonjudgmental as possible. Progress is determined by each client; there's no timeline or expectations. There's just the hope of being healthy, happy, and sound!
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
Being a child of color in a primarily white affluent neighborhood was quite an experience. Not only was I ostracized by the community around me but also struggled with the unhealthy cultural beliefs associated with my family. After coming to an understanding of how families continue to replicate the traumas they experience, I hope to be a change for those looking to break the cycle.

Work HistoryI would say my work experience varies quite a bit. I’ve worked with kids (0-3) in early intervention, working in homeless shelters with women with severe mental health issues, to men with addiction issues coming out of federal prison. I think it is crucial to be able to work with anyone and everyone; as everyone deserves to get help. There aren’t too many populations that I have worked with, but if you are someone I haven’t worked with before, I’d love the opportunity to learn.
