What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I decided to become a therapist because of my own healing journey and having a positive experience in therapy. I have embraced aspects of Buddhist spirituality in the metaphor, “No mud, no lotus.” It’s the idea of transforming suffering. Even a beautiful flower like the lotus, needs mud to grow and blossom. My passion lies in social justice work, advocacy, and helping others step into the best version of themselves. Whether it was advocating for immigrant youth and families to access equitable resources in schools, volunteering to empower unhoused parents with self-sufficiency tools, or serving individuals experiencing an acute crisis in the community my heart is in helping others.
