Under Clinical Supervision

Mrs. Dontrell Gourdine, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, 8563 is practicing under the supervision of Stacy Albarran (South Carolina, LMFT-S, 3534) at JusticeWorks.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

My path to becoming a therapist was in a long one. I originally wanted to become a lawyer but my purpose for choosing that path was to help people by being their voice. I wanted to stand up people that were unsure on how to get the things they need or who felt they did not have a voice in their fight. While on that path, I accepted a job to become a Behavior Interventionist. In this position I worked with families and children that were struggling in their families, on their jobs and in relationships that caused them to feel broken and have nothing to live for. Working in this position, I was able to see the difference my service made in their lives and I started to realize that this in fact the way I am supposed to help people. Realizing this, I then started on the path to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
