Under Clinical Supervision

Eden Baron-Williams, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, R8473 is practicing under the supervision of Carly Rubin (Oregon, LMFT, OR T1838) at I own my private pracitce, CreaitveBelonging Psychotherapy.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

My style is nurturing, warm, intuitive, collaborative, creative, and deepening. I think about mental health and therapy through a systemic lens - the understanding that we are all impacted by one another, the sociopolitical systems in which we live, and our social locations. Our bodies are also a system as is the Earth, plants, and animals we live among. The way we communicate within our own system, is a reflection of the way we communicate with other systems and vice versa. As a therapist, I feel I am a weaver, assisting clients in sewing together the fabric of their lives to create a tapestry that honors ones complexity. My therapist identity is also that of a dedicated gardener, assisting clients in planting seeds for change while tenderly guiding them through a process of growth. I believe therapy can be a building block not only for you and your relationships, but for community change and liberation.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

My work is informed by the belief that a persons relationship with themself is not only planted in relationships with other human beings, but also by the relationships we cultivate with non-human beings and the systems in which we live. I believe that healing is a “within, among, and between” process. You can expect our work together to be creative, collaborative, and deepening of the ways you understand all versions of yourself; inner child, present self, and future. I believe that by building secure attachment within the therapeutic container, you are able to build greater safety and security with yourself and all your relationships.

In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?

Born and raised in Southern California, I grew up spending most of my time amongst the orange and eucalyptus trees that landscaped my parents backyard. Usually with the dogs by my side, my imagination took me on adventures and dreamscapes that led me to be the person I am today. I am a deeply attuned and sensitive empath with the world around me, be that with humans, animals, plants, and environment. My ability to connect energetically with those around me assists me in walking with clients during their therapeutic process as they make profound discoveries and find meaning within their internal and external world. As an out-of-the-box thinker, I gravitate toward artistic spaces where my creativity can roam free. I am neurodivergent and invisibly physically disabled, which informs all that I do. I love spending time outdoors, especially with my partner and our two rescue dogs. My favorite activities include camping, hiking, forest bathing, swimming in natural water sources, road trips, gardening, listening to or playing music, doing arts & crafts, reading, writing, watching tv & movies, and cooking/baking for the people I love. In the most fantastical version of my life, I live in a cottage fantasy where I frolic in the meadows, converse with the plants and animals, and am always cooking up some healing concoction in my kitchen/apothecary.

Work History

I have had the honor of working in a variety of mental health settings that have helped shape who I am as a therapist today. These settings have included working as a sexual assault survivor advocate in emergency room and school settings, drug and alcohol counseling for college-age students, providing arts services to the houseless individuals living with HIV, teaching sexual and relational wellness in the academic setting, and training social justice advocates through the lens of queer theory, critical race theory, and systemic-based foundations. I also have a history speaking publicly about issues faced in the mental health system and have collaborated with other helping professionals working to improve mental and relational healthcare.
