I take an integrative approach to therapy, using CBT techniques to challenge unhelpful thinking, mindfulness practices to regulate emotions, and communication skills to help you develop the confidence to interact with the people around you in a way that feels authentic to you. I have specialized training in communication and conflict management including the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Regardless of the issue you come to therapy for, I begin with a strengths-based approach. I see you as a person first, not just your problems, and meet you where you are without judgement or criticism. While I may be an expert in the process of therapy, you are the expert of your life, so I will work with you to help you identify and reach your goals. The first session will be a time to get oriented to the therapeutic process, allow the client to ask questions, help us get to know each other as client and clinician, and to establish the client's primary purpose for seeking therapy. The first session is also when we will start to set goals for treatment.

I believe that life is about relationships first and everything else is just details, so whether I'm working with you as an individual or part of a couple or family, my hope is to help you create healthy and fulfilling relationships with yourself and with others.
