Training/CertificationsCertified School Counselor
Education
Sam Houston State University, Master of Arts, Counseling, 2013 — During my course of study at SHSU, I focused on School Counseling Certification, Licensed Professional Counseling, as well as Marriage and Family Therapy.
Baylor University, Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, 2004
Work HistoryAfter graduate school, I made the move from high school science teacher to high school counselor, and have been serving as such for the last 12 years. During that time, I have supported literally thousands of students and their families from grades 9-12. One of my very favorite parts of my work as a school counselor is seeing my students walk the stage as new graduates. For some, it is a milestone they never thought they would achieve, and it gives me so much pride and purpose to have contributed to their success, whatever that might look like for each student. I am so excited to see clients outside of the school setting now that I have obtained licensure to do so!
