Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
Working with me means you’ll have space to be fully human—messy, curious, growing, and real. I don’t sit above you or hand out quick fixes; we walk alongside each other, finding meaning and direction through conversation, reflection, and sometimes a little humor. I take a collaborative, affirming approach rooted in mindfulness and self-compassion, helping you reconnect with your values and inner steadiness even when life feels uncertain. Sessions with me are gentle but honest—focused on creating safety, exploring what’s been hard, and slowly kindling the change you want to see.
What impact did the scope and/or focus of your education have on your current work as a therapist?
My background in anthropology taught me to see people as part of larger systems—family, culture, environment—and to stay curious about how those forces shape our inner worlds. When I moved into clinical mental health, I wanted to bridge that systems perspective with a more personal, relational approach to healing. The result is a practice that honors both the complexity of the world we live in and the tenderness of individual experience. Over time, I’ve also immersed myself in trainings and seminars focused on nature-based and somatic work, which have deepened my grounded, earth-centered approach. It’s fair to say my style holds a bit of Wendell Berry-esque realism—acknowledging the ache of being human while still tending gently to what can grow.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
Therapy is a collaboration, not a prescription to be taken once a week. A good, eclectic therapist will shape the work to fit you—your pace, your values, your way of processing—but that only works if you speak up about what feels off or what you’d like to try instead. The best therapy happens when you can be honest about your needs, and your therapist can meet you there without judgment, adjusting and learning alongside you to offer their best self in the room.

Education
Christian Theological Seminary, Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2024
Work HistoryI began my work as a therapist during my graduate internship at a community counseling center, where I worked with adults ages 20–68. Much of that time was spent supporting LGBTQ+ folks as they navigated identity, relationships, and healing from trauma. Then, I moved into community mental health, first spending a year as a skills instructor before transitioning into a therapist role. Over those two years, I deepened my experience working with children, teens, and families from diverse backgrounds and learned how to meet people where they are, even in the most challenging circumstances. I now work primarily with teens and adults in a supervised group practice setting, offering a more grounded, nature-based, and collaborative approach to therapy.
