What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I always knew I wanted to be in a helping field, in my family I was good at listening to others and giving advice, as a kid and teen I was always curious to know why people behaved the way they did, then in high school I took a psychology class I enjoyed, so all those things combined plus the need for Spanish speaking therapists and wanting to help break the stigma of mental health within the community took me to where I am now.

Work HistoryWhile working on my degree to become a counselor, I provided counseling services to clients of low socioeconomic status, mostly all Spanish Speaking immigrants that were struggling to find a counselor who spoke their language, understood their struggles, and could connect with emotionally. Once graduated I started working at a clinic providing services to the community and connecting with people from teens to adults of all kinds of background and paths of life.
