Get To Know Me
Is there any research-based work you’ve done that you found particularly exciting, and how has that informed your practice today?
Yes. One area of research that has shaped my work in a meaningful way is the connection between trauma, the nervous system, and relationships. I’ve spent time learning how unresolved trauma and attachment wounds can stay stored in the body, not just in memory. This helped me understand why so many people feel anxious, disconnected, or emotionally overwhelmed even when they appear to be doing well on the outside.
That understanding led me to focus on trauma-informed and somatic approaches like EMDR, IFS (parts work), and nervous system regulation. I’ve found that healing happens not just through insight but through helping clients reconnect with the parts of themselves that learned to adapt and survive. When we slow down and create space for those parts to be seen and supported, real transformation becomes possible.
In my work with couples, I also draw from the research behind attachment science, the Gottman Method, Imago, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. These frameworks help couples move away from blame and disconnection, and toward emotional safety, vulnerability, and meaningful repair. I’m especially passionate about helping partners understand each other's nervous systems and how past pain often shows up in present conflict.
This research has helped me build a therapeutic approach that is both compassionate and practical. Whether I’m working with individuals or couples, I aim to create a space where clients feel deeply seen, supported in their growth, and empowered to make lasting changes in how they relate to themselves and the people they care about.
