Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
People working with me can except a highly collaborative relationship that centers their unique experiences, identities, relationships, communities, and values. As a music therapist and mental health provider, I frequently use child-led play, music, art, and movement as tools for self-expression and skill development. I believe that the innate gifts of creativity and play can be a healing force for people of all ages! We might be a good team if you are searching for a Neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, want alternatives to traditional talk therapy, or are a caregiver willing to work alongside your child on their therapeutic journey.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
Success is defined by each client and their families. I work collaboratively with clients to set goals that will improve their everyday lives in specific ways that are meaningful to them. I do weekly check-ins and provide formal progress notes every 3-4 months. I encourage older child and adolescent clients to be active participants in their goal setting and to help measure their progress to provide them with a sense of ownership and pride in their hard work during therapy. I also teach caregivers how to better support their child through the therapeutic process and notice signs of success.

Education
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Master of Social Work, Social Work, 2025 — I completed a Youth-Oriented Trauma and Substance Use Disorder Counseling (YOSAT/YOSUT) fellowship and earned a graduate certificate in Trauma-Informed Care. I completed my clinical internship as a child and family therapy intern at a substance use disorder treatment facility that specialized in treating pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women and non-binary people, where I supported moms working to break generation cycles of abuse, improve their parenting skills, and strengthen their relationships with their children.
Appalachian State University, Bachelor of Arts, Music Therapy, 2021 — As a music therapist, I completed a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy, a 1,200 hour clinical internship, and passed a board-certified exam. Music therapy uses music as a tool for people to make progress towards their unique needs related to their mental health, social and emotional well-being, communication skills, motor skills, and developmental milestones. No musical experience is required and clients can engage with music through a variety of ways including listening, playing instruments, moving to music, writing songs, and song analysis.
Work HistoryI primarily support children, adolescents, and their families who want support navigating life changes, overcoming the negative impacts of traumatic experiences, expressing and managing "big feeling," and building caregiver's confidence and skills to support their child through tough times. I am passionate about creating affirming and accessible therapeutic spaces and relationships for LGBTQIA2+ youth and families and individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
I have worked with children, youth, and families in private practice, virtual mental health care, inpatient behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, parenting programs, foster care, daycares, public schools, and community centers. I also have experience providing evaluations and letters of support for people accessing gender-affirming healthcare.
