What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
After retiring from a successful career as a combat leader in the United States Army, I knew I wanted the second chapter in my story to be one of service to others in a different kind of way. I already understood the stressful and rigorous nature of high stakes performance, the hidden scars often left behind from traumatic experiences, and the impact it can all have on how one relates to self, close and intimate others, and the world. I wanted to walk alongside others who are fighting tough battles on the inside, who are struggling to maintain the marriages and relationships that mean so much to them, and who long to realize their purpose in the world. As a Clinical Social Worker, Psychotherapist, and Couples Therapist, I wake up energized and grateful to get the chance to promote hope, healing, and endurance in individual lives and in intimate relationships every single day.

Work HistoryI had the privilege of providing the highest quality, evidenced based mental health treatment to Active Duty Military, US Veterans and their families while serving as a Clinical Fellow and Clinician with the highly regarded Cohen Veterans Network (CVN) of Military Family Clinics. I was honored to deliver world class care to Individuals, Couples, and Families in the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression, adjustment disorders, and marital / relationship issues. While there, I was fortunate enough to work with countless couples, quickly earning a reputation as a local subject matter expert in the interplay between human attachment and intimate relationships. Informed by a strong scientific base of knowledge into what promotes success in relationships and with advanced training in the attachment-centered Emotionally Focused Therapy, I was able to help couples navigate some of the most challenging episodes in their relationships and move towards cementing stronger, more lasting bonds of love, trust, and connection.
