Work HistoryI believe that each client who chooses therapy should be treated as an individual and not the same as the person before or after them. I do not utilize a "cookie cutter" method and instead, I tailor each session for that individual client. With the above in mind, I believe my vast knowledge throughout my career has given me not only the opportunities to work with many different populations but also to be able to develop my skills. I began my career working in the law enforcement field for about 12 years. I first worked as a juvenile probation officer then transitioned to an adult probation/parole officer. This was when I was specifically assigned as a specialized officer to supervise domestic violence cases, PFA violations, and any assault cases that surrounded domestic violence. I was fortunate enough to serve on two domestic violence task forces in my area as well as attend the National Domestic Violence Conference in 2018 located in Chicago, IL. Upon leaving the probation field after receiving my master's degree, I then transitioned to working as a therapist for 3 years at the state prison for male inmates. I ran anger management groups, and batterers intervention groups while working in the prison system. I transitioned back out into the community as I was there I truly wanted to continue my therapy skills. I worked for a short time at a local private practice agency before starting my own private practice office. I have not only experience but passion for helping clients overcome domestic violence relationships, trauma, PTSD along with other forms of mental health.
