Get To Know Me
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I aim to create a safe space to collaboratively process trauma and work on issues such as anxiety, depression, chronic illness, relationship struggles, abuse, life and career concerns, and issues around identity and creative expression. I also specialize in helping people recover from coercive control and influence, including survivors of cultic abuse and high demand groups.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked as a neuroscientist, so my therapeutic approaches are informed by experience and expertise in neuroscience. I studied how therapy can change the brain and improve symptoms in people who are struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I primarily use a trauma-focused and strengths-based psychodynamic approach, and will bring in other tools to support our work together. This may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness approaches. I also find that somatic and expressive, creative arts therapies can be beneficial for healing trauma.
