What does a first session with you look like?

I provide a free consultation for 5-10 minutes, which will allow us to discuss presenting symptoms and determine if I am able to provide the services you are needing. Once we establish that we are a good fit, we will schedule an initial psychiatric assessment that will cover presenting symptoms, history, and any other pertinent information that will help guide treatment. The overall goal is to work toward improving symptoms and working together to improve health. I work with all clients regardless of their background, age, or race. I formulate a treatment plan that is personalized to the clients diagnosis and medications are prescribed if neccessay otherwise, i recommend and discuss the benefits of psychotherapy with all my clients

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I practice holistic care model. I want my client to heal from within where we learn more about how our mind, brain works and how to heal from any mental health disorders. I am patient care centered. I involve my clients and discuss every treatment plan and make sure we are both in agreeable with treatment plan. After our session, my clients are able to make an informed decision regarding if medications are prescribed or if they need therapy in addition to medication management. My clients feels reassured, stress free, relaxed during our sessions.

Is there any research-based work you’ve done that you found particularly exciting, and how has that informed your practice today?

At least once per month, I attend both primary care and psychiatric continuing education courses and training that help improve knowledge and understanding of various diseases and illnesses. I am always seeking to better understand and identify ways to improve myself, the care provided to clients, and the community.
