Education
MS in Mental Health Counseling
Work HistoryI have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling. I am currently licensed in the State of North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor - Supervisor (LCMHC-S), #9235 and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, #2998. I have over 22 years of working in the mental health field as well as with substance abuse clientele. I specialize in clientele with chronic mental illnesses to include psychosis, personality disorders, addictions and mood disorders. I have extensive experience working with various clientele populations to include children through geriatrics, foster care children, adult inmates and juvenile delinquents. Therapy is a process whereas the client discusses issues and concerns with me in order to find a way to either cope with situations and/or relieve themselves of the stressor. I like to make sure that clients recognize that it is not a method of being given the answers to your problems or how to solve daily issues. You already have that within yourself! I will be there to be an objective voice in order to help you to view different perspectives from other angles. It is easy for a person to become wrapped up in their own issues that they are unable to rationalize. This is where I come in to help you “to look outside of the box”.
