What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
I believe a key component of the therapeutic relationship is trust - Trusting that my therapy sessions are a safe space for you to share your thoughts, feelings, and concerns, where you will not receive unhealthy judgment or criticism. Trusting that I will do my best to listen and respond in a way that shows I pay attention to and care about what you share with me. And trusting that I am a human being, just like yourself, who has encountered her own struggles and does not want you to feel intimidated within the therapy space.
