What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
As an African American female therapist who specializes in supporting women with anxiety and depression, there are a few important aspects to know about working with me. First and foremost, I bring a deep understanding and cultural sensitivity to the unique experiences of women of color. I recognize the impact of societal factors such as racism, sexism, and intersectionality on mental health, and I provide a safe and affirming space where these issues can be explored. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and collaboration, ensuring that you feel heard and valued throughout our work together. I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other interventions that promote healing and growth. I believe in a holistic approach that considers the mind, body, and spirit, and I encourage self-care practices and self-compassion as essential components of the therapeutic journey. Together, we will work towards developing effective coping strategies, exploring underlying issues, and fostering resilience to help you regain a sense of balance and well-being in your life.

Work History
Throughout my career as a mental health counselor, I have had the privilege of working closely with women who have faced challenges related to depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have developed a deep understanding and expertise in utilizing various therapeutic approaches to support their healing journeys. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been instrumental in helping clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns, empowering them to develop healthier coping strategies. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has been invaluable in teaching effective emotion regulation and interpersonal skills, promoting overall emotional well-being. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) has been a transformative tool in processing and healing from past traumas, allowing clients to reclaim their lives. Additionally, I have incorporated the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach to help clients explore their inner worlds, fostering self-compassion and facilitating personal growth. My experience and expertise in these modalities enable me to provide compassionate and effective support to women as they navigate their unique challenges and find strength in their healing process.
