Work HistoryI received a MS in Professional Counseling Psychology from Florida International University (FIU) and previously received a BA in Psychology at the University of Miami (UM). While receiving my BA at UM, I was involved in working with the Community Study of Outcome Monitoring for Emotional Disorders in Teens (COMET). COMET was a randomized controlled trial that aimed to test the effectiveness of two novel interventions designed to address comorbid emotional disorders in adolescents. While working on this research team, I met with clients and their families, administered the relevant assessments, and later assisted in inputting and organizing data. While pursuing my MS at FIU, I completed my practicum and internship at The Therapy Labs, a private practice based in Hialeah, Florida. While interning at this practice, I completed assessments, made accurate diagnoses, created and administered treatment plans, and collaborated with other clinicians and professionals to administer effective treatments for my clients. I worked with a range of clients including, young children, adolescents, men, women, couples, and families. My clients typically struggled with a range of challenges including anxiety disorders, emotional disorders, adjustment disorders, grief, difficulty with communication, and marital issues. Throughout both my BA and MS educational journeys, I also ran a mobile music school teaching and creating music curriculum for a diverse range aged students.
