Work History
Dr. Gabrielle Schreyer-Hoffman received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and her Doctoral Degree in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University. Dr. Schreyer-Hoffman obtained her training and clinical experiences at Mount Sinai Hospital’s Eating and Weight Disorders Program; Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital’s Child, Adolescent and Family Program; Columbia University Medical Center; the Karen Horney Clinic; Pace College Counseling Center; Renfrew Center; Neuropsychology Associates; and the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center. Her eclectic training and experience with children, adolescents, adults, and senior patients has allowed her to build a strong clinical foundation for understanding mental health across the lifespan. She has served diverse urban patient populations of all ages, abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds throughout her career. Dr. Schreyer-Hoffman has expertise in eating and weight disorders and related issues, such as OCD, depression and anxieties. Additionally, Dr. Schreyer-Hoffman has conducted research in and works with patients on improving their self-esteem and body image. She utilizes evidence-based treatments to treat adult and adolescent patients who are struggling with disordered eating, eating disorders, and body image disturbances. She has worked extensively with emerging adult populations in hospital and private practice settings. Dr. Schreyer-Hoffman is apt at understanding and helping patients struggling with anxieties (e.g., general, performance, and social anxiety), depression, poor motivation, and relational problems. She works with patients to enhance identity development, improve self-esteem and increase self-understanding and self-awareness. Additionally, Dr. Schreyer-Hoffman works with patients to understand problematic relational dynamics, develop and improve their ability to cope, problem solve and communicate.
