How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?
Sometimes clients will enter into therapy after being referred by a prescribing physician. I believe it is important to collaborate with other professionals who may also be assisting you with managing your mental health. It is important to know that everyone on your team is always up to date with your concerns. I like to know that if your doctor has a concern they are able to reach out to me so that I may tailor my methods to help you reach your mental health goals, and vice versa.

Work HistoryHaving worked as a case manager in social services within the State of Texas, I gained insight and understanding into the struggles that many face with providing basic needs to their family. After being in this position for a few years, I moved into a case management position with a non-profit organization that helped to reunite undocumented children with their families. I spent four years in this position before I transitioned into providing therapy for this same population within this organization. Two years later, I felt it was time to move on and build my skills as a therapist in group and private practice. I have since been providing therapy to many adolescents, adults, elderly, and traditional/non-traditional couples.
