Get To Know Me
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
Chronic pain impacted my ability to work, move, and live the way I wanted. After trying the traditional routes to pain relief, Structural Integration along with cognitive behavioral approaches helped me get back to being myself again. When you’ve tried the DIY and standard medical interventions, I’m here to offer something different. I want to work with people who are similarly afflicted to reclaim their life.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
From our psychotherapy sessions, you can expect 3 things: understanding, challenge, and growth. My goal is to make sure I understand your story the way you experience it. You will be challenged at times, and it might be uncomfortable. You might even find yourself stewing over the audacity I must have to make a connection that disrupts your normal way of thinking or being - with respect, of course. You can also expect to learn a skill and gain some insight.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
We focus on making connections, confronting hard things, and learning how to rebuild and find relief. We respect the financial commitment therapy requires and we won’t waste your time. Success doesn’t always look like sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes, it looks like living another day with less dread and more ease. We’re here to “sit with you in the dark, when you can’t see the bright side.” - Amara Honeck
