Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I spent 24 years as an Information Technology professional. It was a fulfilling career in the beginning, but I began to feel a pull towards something that brought greater meaning. I had always been supportive and empathetic, often receiving calls from friends and family when they were in a crisis because they knew I would offer them support. In conversations with random strangers, I would find that people would open up to me deeply and spontaneously. Though somewhat uncertain about the path ahead, I took the leap and signed up for a counseling program. The process of changing careers has been both challenging and exciting. I feel I've found myself in this career and am able to leverage my natural gifts. I love providing hope to those who are struggling, and I love sitting in the dark with those who are lost so they don't feel quite so alone as we look for a way to invite light to return.
