Work HistoryVirtual Services: I offer Virtual counseling to preteens (11/12+ years old), teens, young adults and adults in North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana, Virginia, New York, and Connecticut. In Person Services: I provide counseling in my office to preteens (11/12 years old +), teens, young adults and adults in Surf City, North Carolina. I do not mind at all if people wear masks or ask for certain cleaning protocols for their safety and peace of mind. Personal Relevant Experience: I understand some things in life cant be understood unless you have lived it. I have past experience as a Military Family member as a spouse to a NAVY Sailor and sister to a Tech Sargent in the Air Force. I have been a volunteer Emergency Responder and professional Lifeguard. I grew up living in camp grounds and working on horse farms. I experienced dysfunction in my family of origin. Populations and Experience: Its a long road to be a social worker. I have worked with children and families in their homes, families with middle school age children in the schools, adults in crisis in the community, adults living with addiction inpatient, adult outpatient focusing on risk management/ prevention, and some work with unique populations. Children/Families: After school program facilitator in Boys and Girls Club in Connecticut. I was an Intensive In-Home counselor in Virginia. I was a Middle School Teacher as a "Teen Outreach Program" teacher in Connecticut, which focused on preventing drug and alcohol use, preventing early sexual behaviors, preventing childhood pregnancy, and if pregnancy occurred engaging them in finding work, and help them finish high school, and go on to college. Adults At Risk: I was a Triage Therapist in Connecticut during the pandemic. I answered all the phone calls; local crisis calls, roll over for the 211 hotline, dispatching police to urgent situations and wellness checks, asking people questions to make sure we were the right agency to work with and recommend them to programs that were best fits. I was in Admissions by completing the Diagnosis evaluations, the Intake part, to begin treatment. So I am good at diagnosing including addiction treatment, and Dual Diagnosis (mental health and addiction). Adults Out Patient: I have extensive experience with Adult Individual Outpatient like One-on-One counseling In-Person in Washington State, Connecticut, Virginia, and North Carolina. LGBTQIIA+: I am an open and affirming provider. I have facilitated a mentoring program for foster care youth who identify as LGBTQIIA+.
