My style of therapy is unique - I blend and pull from many modalities, not wedded to any particular single one. Thus, sessions look unique for every single person I meet, and the arc of therapy is usually one of expanded self-awareness, self-acceptance, self-compassion, and a greater understanding in general of why and how we do what we do. Because I am not a "blank slate" therapist, sessions are usually engaging, dynamic, and straight-to-the-point. I don't enjoy wasting anyone's time skirting around issues, and clients often enjoy my humanistic and no-bullshit way of connecting with them and getting to the heart of their concerns. I am light-hearted but grounded, intellectual yet emotionally validating, and perceptive - qualities that tend to make therapy with me unlike therapy with other more "clinical" clinicians.

In textbooks terms, my approach is considered integrative: I blend aspects of Gestalt, psychodynamic, and psychoanalytic therapy in a way that suits your needs. In less clinical terms, my approach is direct, insight-oriented, and holistic. I help people understand how their past impacts their present, how to cope and thrive in the present, and how to move towards a more desired future. I move as quickly as you're ready to, and I entrust you to be the driver most of the time, with me as a guide to help illuminate your blindspots, challenge any default misconceptions, and ultimately train you to become your own guide in due time.
