Education
Southern CT State University, Master of Science, Marriage and Family Therapy, 2020 — I was fortunate to attend a university that ran a community mental health clinic and as a masters student I was able to practice therapy there, while under supervision, with both individuals and couples for a year and a half of my studies. I worked in tandem with a fellow grad student with the same couple for over a year. This opportunity provided me with the room to take risks and find out things that worked in real time with the couple. It was an invaluable and rewarding experience and led me to my current focus on couples therapy in my private practice.
Work HistoryI have had a diverse range of experience prior to opening my private practice including working with families and children in one internship and addictions in another. I accepted a job in addictions running large IOP groups as well as smaller groups for anger management and relapse prevention. I then worked for several years in small group practices working with couples, families and teens. In my private practice I’ve been able to focus on what I love the most; working with couples. Finding RLT as a way of working with couples has been a game changer and provides me with a strong framework of understanding how to help couples to reconnect not just with each other but with themselves.
