Get To Know Me
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My therapeutic style is eclectic, grounded primarily in principles from psychodynamic and person-centered therapy. This allows us to explore the deeper roots of patterns and behaviors while also building real-life coping tools and strategies. Clients benefit from a collaborative space where emotional insight, understanding, and growth can develop at a pace that is tailored to your needs.
For children, that may look like play, creativity, movement, and storytelling. I have specialized training in play-based therapy and Level 1 Sandtray, allowing children to communicate and process emotions through play rather than words alone. These developmentally appropriate approaches help children safely express big feelings, explore experiences symbolically, and build emotional regulation skills in an engaging, secure environment. Parents are valued collaborators in the process, and I aim to offer guidance that feels supportive.
My work is guided by a developmentally attuned, trauma-informed lens that recognizes how past experiences shape emotional responses, relationships, and self-perception. I help clients gently explore these patterns while building safety, emotional regulation, and self-compassion. The goal is not only symptom relief, but deeper healing that supports long-term resilience and healthier ways of relating to oneself and others.
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
I believe every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and treated with dignity. My work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and respect for each client’s lived experience. I value inclusivity and strive to create a space that is affirming of diverse identities, backgrounds, and family systems.
I believe emotional patterns develop for a reason — often as a way to stay safe or connected — and healing begins when those parts are met with understanding rather than shame. I am committed to ongoing learning, cultural humility, and practicing in ways that honor both individual growth and the broader communities we belong to. For me, one of the most beautiful parts of therapy is seeing real humans come together to work toward meaningful change.
Above all, I hold a deep respect for the inner child in everyone. Even as we grow older, those parts deserve patience, validation, and heartfelt care.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I work with children (3+), teens, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, and life transitions. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck in patterns they don’t understand, or unsure how to manage big feelings. I especially enjoy supporting families seeking play-based therapy for their child and college-aged clients who want deeper insight and practical coping tools for lasting emotional growth.

Work HistoryI earned my Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Social Work from Baylor University and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I completed my graduate-level clinical training in Houston, where I provided individual, child, and family therapy within a diverse private practice setting. My continued work with clients from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds deeply shaped my commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive care.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in several child-centered and community roles, including case management for survivors of domestic violence, educational advocacy for students and military families, and fostering healthy development in early childhood settings.
