In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
The relationship between you and your provider is one of the largest drivers of change. I really take this fact to heart and believe in being my authentic self in session with my clients. I like to lean into light moments and allow humor to be present when its appropriate, and sometime that means laughing at myself. I am open and honest about my life and experiences and don't hid behind the blank slate therapist troupe. That might mean sometimes my clients are activated by me and I find that to be a wonderful time to safely explore that relational trigger and make room for healthy rupture and repair. My hope is this style and my personality feel welcoming and invite you to feel comfortable and be yourself as well.
How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?
I take clinical supervision and consultation very seriously. I actually love to be collaborative and work as team so any opportunity I can to learn from other professionals I am on the look out for. I am in a monthly perinatal brainspotting specific consultation group with other experts in the field that is led by a very experienced therapist in this niche. I bring cases to consultation as needed (confidentially of course) and find this to be an amazing resource and keeps my skills sharp.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
I have had a few bad experiences in therapy, so I try to make it clear to my clients that I am always open for feedback for any reason.
I also received brainspotting as a client and it had a huge positive impact on my mental health which is part of the reason I am so passionate about offering this modality to others.

Education
University of Denver, Master of Social Work, Mental Health and Trauma, 2024 — This is a clinical social work degree integrated with systems thinking and clinical work.
Work HistoryIt was a long and winding road to get to where I am now. I started out working in the teen treatment world, became jaded with that, transitioned to a more trauma informed care model working with homeless and runaway teens in both direct care and program management. I then went back to school for clinical social work, became a mom, and discovered my passion for working with other moms!
There was quite a lot of other things sprinkled in there as well including some nannying and growing and selling flowers at my local farmers market!
