In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
I believe in the mind and body’s capacity to heal and that supporting the whole person can lead to lasting wellness. When we heal as individuals, we can promote health in our communities. When we are strong together, we can thrive!
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I have known that I wanted to be a therapist since I was 15 years old. I grew up doing a lot of theater in my middle and high school years, and exploring character development through acting inspired my love for psychology as well as being therapeutic for me. I was also fortunate enough to have great therapy when I was a teen. So between the two, theater and therapy, I found my voice and my life's passion.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
In my practice, I offer you a safe space to explore your challenges through a collaborative and holistic approach to therapy. I will establish a sincere relationship with you so I can understand your needs and build on your strengths. I will partner with you to make gentle shifts for your wholeness and to work through any obstacles along the way. And I will honor that you are the expert of what is right for you. We go at your pace and you will be in the driver's seat the whole time.
I will also happily collaborate with other care providers on your team. I will provide regular check-ins and foster small, attainable actions to work toward your bigger goal/s. For example, if you were experiencing anxiety, I would invite you to explore some natural ways to support your gut-brain axis through nutrition, gentle movement, and optimizing sleep, relaxation, and joy. One at a time. We would also work together on reframing your thoughts and feelings for more intentional and compassionate internal messages. And I would invite you to engage in some bilateral stimulation or other mind-body techniques to activate the parasympathetic nervous system in order to reintegrate your thoughts and feelings and induce calm in your mind and body. And these are just some of the options available to us, but I will tailor your plan of care to your needs and your preferences.
These tools and resources take some time to establish, but most often we can work together to give you immediate relief while we are also building a foundation to support your lasting wellness. Health is a journey, not a destination, but you can feel good again and learn to navigate it with confidence!

Work HistoryMy work experience is eclectic and a reflection of who I am as a person. I have worked as a social worker for LGBTQ+ youth and families, an in-home therapist for youth and families, a counselor for college students, and a private practice therapist for diverse individuals, couples, and families. I also have a background in education and the performing arts--teaching psychology and human services at the community college level, directing education initiatives for community theatres, and providing health and wellness presentations for youth and social service providers in Palm Beach County. While studying at UF, I focused my research interests on women's health and have led several different community health initiatives for women related to breast cancer, reproductive/sexual health, and mental health.
In the past 5 years, I have really focused on learning more about holistic care for my clients, especially with women's health and functional medicine. As such, I am also a certified functional medicine health coach. This means that as a therapist, I look to understand the root causes of your symptoms and create an integrative plan of care that treats all of you and not just your symptoms. The benefit for you is that you develop deep healing and a lasting wellness you can sustain long after we finish working together.
You deserve to feel good! I know the gift of good therapy and I want to share it with you.
