Dr. Heather Leahy Hecht earned and doctorate in clinical psychology with a specialization in couples, children, and family therapy, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her dissertation was on positive psychology interventions for depression. Dr. Hecht’s post-doctoral residencies centered on the development of specialization in eating disorders and child/adolescent care. Dr. Hecht earned a Community Service Scholarship Award during her graduate studies for her work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate also known as CASA in Washington DC. Dr. Hecht founded Resolve Psychological Services in 2016 with a mission to provide top of the line therapeutic intervention to the community at large, recognizing a need for more access to evidence-based interventions. As such, Dr. Hecht has grown her practice into a five clinician practice centered around empirically supported therapy.

Dr. Heather Leahy Hecht completed her doctorate in clinical psychology, graduating Summa Cum Laude, in 2016. She earned a specialization in with a specialization in couples, children, and family therapy. Dr. Hecht’s dissertation centered on the empirical validity of positive psychology interventions for clinical depression. Dr. Hecht’s completed two residencies: one in the treatment of eating disorders from an All Foods Fit, Health at Every Size (HAES), and Intuitive Eating framework. Dr. Hecht’s second residency was focused on the development of her specialty in the treatment of children and adolescents. Dr. Hecht founded Resolve Psychological Services in 2016 with a mission to provide top of the line therapeutic intervention to the community at large, recognizing a need for more access to evidence-based interventions. Dr. Hecht was formally trained in a myriad of therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma Focused CBT, CBT-Enhanced for Eating Disorders, Schema Therapy, and she is a Gottman Certified Couples Therapist. Dr. Hecht identifies as an Integrative Therapist, as she is also formally trained in Psychodynamic Therapy, Play Therapy, Bibliotherapy, Art Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy and Humanistic Therapy, to name a few.
