What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
During our first meeting, we discuss your history and establish clear treatment objectives. The process begins with laying a foundation of trust, exploring coping mechanisms, and applying specific therapeutic techniques. This not only empowers clients but also fortifies their self-belief as they manage their difficulties.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
People who see me for individual therapy are usually facing turmoil either due to current stressors or past issues that keep surfacing and prevent them from moving forward in their lives. Often, people tell me that they feel "stuck" and need direction/guidance. By working with me they identify their inner strengths and capabilities; they feel confident in themselves to take on challenges that come their way. In therapy we identify things that should change because what clients are doing currently is not helping. I problem solve and discuss ways to make their present meaningful. My strength based approach resonates with clients. I offer services to residents of MN & WI, and teleheath services to residents of 40 US states. I specialize in CBT for depression, anxiety, bipolar, trauma, chronic pain, women’s mental health, bariatric psychological evaluations, disability/forensic evaluations, and couples/family therapy. I have competence in working diverse populations& ethnic minorities. I like to meet clients where they are at and build a strong rapport with them so they feel comfortable in sharing their personal issues and concerns. I believe that the therapeutic relationship and the right "fit" with a therapist is key for therapy to be successful. I use evidenced based treatments that are time limited and with the best efficacy.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Strength-Based therapy methods, my aim is to empower you, instilling a renewed sense of hope. By integrating trauma-focused techniques like EMDR & ART, we work together to address and heal from past experiences. Take that important step towards self-empowerment and start your path to personal growth and wellness today
