Education
University of Kentucky, Master of Social Work, Clinical Social Work, 2014 — During my Master of Social Work (MSW) program at the University of Kentucky, I focused on clinical social work practice with an emphasis on mental health, trauma, and substance use treatment. My training included coursework in evidence-based interventions, cultural responsiveness, and clinical assessment. I participated in practicum placements that strengthened my skills in individual and group therapy, case management, and community behavioral health support. This education provided a strong foundation in therapeutic modalities such as CBT and DBT, which I continue to use in practice today.
Work HistoryOver the years, I’ve worked in several mental health and community support settings that have shaped how I show up as a therapist. I’ve supported individuals and families experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use challenges, and major life transitions. My work in residential treatment and community programs gave me experience helping people stabilize during crisis, rebuild healthy routines, and create structure in their daily lives. I’ve also spent time supporting youth, young adults, and immigrant and refugee communities, which strengthened my ability to understand cultural identities, family dynamics, and the impact of trauma. In previous roles, I worked closely with case managers, medical providers, and housing programs, so I understand how mental health can be affected by stressors like finances, housing, relationships, or work. These experiences taught me to meet each person where they are, listen without judgment, and work together to build realistic goals. Today, I use that background to help clients gain insight, develop coping skills, and move toward healthier patterns that support long-term growth and well-being.
