Work HistoryI began my clinical journey as a graduate student, where I had the opportunity to run a peer counseling program on my college's campus. This program offered peer-to-peer support to students navigating academic challenges. When students presented with more serious concerns, we connected them to a licensed therapist on our campus. After I graduated, I worked as a case manager in Spanish Harlem, where I supported individuals living with schizophrenia. I was able to help them access medical, psychiatric, and financial support while also supporting their autonomy to live independently in their community. While I learned a lot, I continued to feel called to become a therapist and landed a role as a research clinician, which allowed me to become trained in Motivational Interviewing and aspects of CBT. Unfortunately, when COVID hit, the research clinic I worked for had all their funding re-routed to COVID. I took this as an opportunity to explore private practice and began working at a group practice. In 2022, I established my private practice and continue to run it today. While seeing clients, I also teach an undergraduate course at my alma mater.
