What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?

Relatable connection and authenticity. I believe therapists should show up as a PERSON first, before the professional comes out. As a therapist we learn all the modalities and interventions that can be used to support our clients, but what can't always be taught are the personality traits of the therapist that can make or break success. Research shows that the effectiveness of therapy relies on the strength of the relationship between therapist and client. That is why it is so important for you as the client to do your research, take the free consultations, and truly feel out the fit BEFORE diving right in. I will always prioritize this for my clients!

Work History

Hi! I serve the entire state of Texas virtually! My clients typically fall in these categories: - young adults 18-35 who are in the constant cycle of high function then freeze, always questioning if they are making the right choices, reacting instead of responding and then regretting it later, feels overstimulated, anxiety, and/or depression. - teens who are disengaged, experiencing highs and lows, struggling with self harm, and/or low self esteem -couples that are struggling to overcome communication barriers, resentment, trust, and a loss of connection. My M.Ed. in Counseling and Human Development helps me understand behaviors and how our experiences with the world around us impact those behaviors, creating those negative symptoms. Thinking systemically allows me to see how each area of life impacts the other. My goal is to support my clients to identify ways to cope, but fix the root issue! I know it's nerve-racking trying to find the best therapist. I try to get to the point with things and not include a bunch of big language fluff. If you have read this far I encourage you to check out my website and reach out for a quick and free consult.
