Get To Know Me
What is your style/approach to therapy?
Since I have been a therapist for so many years, my approach is no doubt different from newer/younger therapists. My approach appears more casual and easygoing. I tend not to use "therapy lingo". In short, I am down-to-earth, willing to laugh if OK with client (but certainly in a respectful manner), and I do contribute to the discussion.
What does a first session with you look like?
Aside from basic demographic info, I don't ask a series of questions. I simply ask "What's going on?" and take it from there.

Work HistoryIn my more than 2 decades as a therapist I have helped many people, from all walks of life, with problems which may be similar to yours. I create a safe place where you can explore your feelings and behavior without shame or judgment. I can help you stop beating yourself up if you believe you "should" be happy but for some reason are not. We can gently explore the roots of false beliefs which you may have about yourself. Learning how these dysfunctional beliefs originated and how they affect your decisions and behaviior helps you make the changes necessary to achieve the life you want and deserve.
