In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?

Through my own practice of mindfulness and somatic awareness, I've experienced firsthand how mind-body approaches can support wellbeing in our fast-paced digital world. My journey to becoming a therapist grew from witnessing how technology, while connecting us globally, often disconnects us from ourselves and our bodies. This insight, combined with my own experiences with mind-body approaches to healing anxiety and trauma, inspired me to pursue therapy as a profession. At Naropa University, I deepened my understanding of how we can use body-based awareness to reconnect with ourselves and others in meaningful ways. Through my work with diverse populations, including athletes, veterans, and neurodivergent individuals, I've discovered that supporting others in finding this balance isn't just my profession—it's my calling.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a warm, collaborative approach that combines innovative body-based methods with practical strategies for lasting change. Rather than traditional talk therapy alone, I integrate specialized somatic approaches like Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Brainspotting to help you work through challenges at both a cognitive and body level. Understanding that each person's needs are unique, I adapt my approach to fit your natural way of thinking and processing. Think of me as a guide who brings both innovative tools and practical know-how to help you navigate life's challenges. Whether you're dealing with work-life stress, processing trauma, or seeking better emotional regulation, we'll work together to develop tools that support your growth while honoring your individual experience.

Work History

My path to becoming a therapist brings together unique experiences that inform how I support clients today. After years working in educational technology and consulting, where I gained firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by tech professionals, I followed my passion for supporting others through their personal growth journeys. My training at Naropa University in Somatic Counseling deepened my appreciation for how mental and physical well-being are connected, leading me to pursue specialized training in body-based approaches like Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Brainspotting. Through my work at Aurora Mental Health and Recovery, I developed extensive experience supporting neurodivergent teens and young adults in a clinical setting, while my time at Athlete Insight allowed me to help athletes address anxiety, trauma, sport-life balance, and performance-related challenges. At Parker Counseling Services, I had the privilege of working with active duty military personnel and veterans, providing specialized support for trauma and PTSD through evidence-based and somatic approaches. My background spans from supporting students in educational settings to working with clients in various therapeutic environments, giving me a deep understanding of how different people think and process their experiences. This blend of experiences - from tech and education to mind-body therapeutic approaches - allows me to offer practical strategies while understanding the deeper patterns that influence our well-being.
