Jenna Houpert LPC

I sadly experienced a traumatic event at the age of 16 that lead to me seeking therapy at the time. The therapist I saw was so wonderful and she taught me so much about me being normal but living in a lot of high-stress environments. It was from the way she truly helped me that made me realize I want to do that for other people. This career is how I give back and show my gratitude, and I am enjoying every second of it!

I am pretty casual, aka you'll likely see me wearing sweatshirts in the winter and my hair in a bun almost everyday. I also have an adolescent golden retriever so, if you know what that's like you can imagine how disruptive she can be sometimes. But she is adorable and I am happy to let you see her when she's close by. I guess the most important thing to know is I am a human too, and sometimes life shows up but I am devoted to my clients and them living their best lives above all else.

I have worked in a few clinical settings so far in my career. The most significant so far being a community mental health center that treated addiction and trauma. I have worked in outpatient settings as well as a partial hospital. Some areas of clinical focus include substance use, trauma, sexual abuse, problematic family dynamics, and issues within relationships including codependency and low self-esteem.
