Education
Southwestern College, Master of Arts, Masters in Counseling and Art Therapy, 2007 — I hold a Master’s degree in both Counseling and Art Therapy, providing a well-rounded foundation in supporting emotional healing through both traditional and creative therapeutic approaches. My training allows me to integrate evidence-based practices with expressive techniques when appropriate, offering a more personalized experience for each client. In addition, I am certified in Grief, Loss, and Trauma Counseling, with specialized focus on helping individuals process difficult life experiences, navigate transitions, and move toward healing with care and support.
Work HistoryOver the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to walk alongside children, adolescents, adults, and older adults through some of life’s most painful and meaningful experiences. My work has always centered on helping people navigate grief, loss, trauma, anxiety, and major life transitions in a way that feels supportive, grounded, and personal to their needs. I began my career in community mental health settings in New Mexico, where I worked closely with children, teens, and families in schools, outpatient programs, and juvenile services. During this time, I supported young people struggling with trauma, emotional and behavioral challenges, and grief. I also worked with families to strengthen communication, stability, and connection during difficult seasons of life. As my practice evolved, I expanded into outpatient therapy and private practice work, where I began focusing more deeply on grief, trauma, and emotional healing across the lifespan. I spent many years providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families, often supporting clients who were processing significant loss, childhood trauma, depression, and anxiety. I also had the privilege of supervising and supporting other behavioral health professionals during this time. In more recent years, I’ve focused primarily on telehealth counseling, allowing me to serve clients across Arizona, Idaho, and beyond. In this setting, I work with adults and older adults navigating grief, trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I’ve partnered with clients through both short-term support and longer-term healing work, always tailoring therapy to meet each person where they are. Across all of my roles, I’ve maintained a strong foundation in expressive and art-based approaches to therapy. This has allowed clients who struggle to put words to their experiences to find other meaningful ways of expressing, processing, and healing. My work is grounded in compassion, presence, and helping people reconnect with their own strength and resilience, even in the midst of difficult circumstances.
