What is your style/approach to therapy?
I specialize in helping people who have been traumatized. There are a lot of different ways to treat trauma, and I tailor my approach to match your needs and personality style. My style is compassionate and collaborative, and I structure the treatment to flow in a way that feels natural and comfortable for you. If I think a particular strategy would be helpful, I explain it and give you the choice to try it or not. I also teach you things you can do at home to find some relief in between sessions. I am licensed in Ohio and New York, and I am a registered tele-health psychologist in Florida.

Education
Walden University, Doctorate of Philosophy, Clinical Psychology, 2011 — I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Masters in Psychology. My doctoral dissertation was an original study examining relationships between attachment (styles and dimensions) and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms. My masters thesis was a literature review of PTSD in children.
I did my pre-doctoral internship at a center specializing in young children and their families, with an emphasis on trauma and attachment. I have specialized post-doctoral training in neuropsychology. I also did a post-doctoral supervised year of experience at a community mental health center.
Work HistoryI have experience helping people with a lot of different kinds of problems. After obtaining my psychology licensure, I treated people who were injured at work or in a car accident, and then I started working independently in my own practice with people who have found themselves troubled by one thing or another and just want to feel better. Before becoming a psychologist, I worked with children in many different settings. All of these experiences have given me a solid grasp of what people need in order to be healthy and happy, and what needs to happen to get there.
