Education
Walden University, Master of Social Work, 2017 — In my Master of Social Work program at Walden University, I received focused training in trauma treatment, culturally responsive therapy, and evidence-based approaches for depression, anxiety, and PTSD. My education strengthened my ability to understand how culture, identity, and life experiences shape emotional wellbeing. Clients often find it helpful to know that my graduate work emphasized real-world practice with diverse and underserved communities, which prepared me to offer care that is both clinically grounded and deeply attuned to the lived experiences of people of color.
Work HistoryI’m Jennifer Deas, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Nevada, Georgia, and Virginia. Over the years, I’ve worked with adults facing depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and trauma. My experience comes from serving people in community settings and private care, which taught me the importance of meeting each person with understanding and flexibility. In our sessions, you’ll find a place to slow down and sort through what feels difficult. We’ll look at how your experiences affect your daily life and explore strategies that make sense for you. My role is to listen closely, highlight patterns you may not see on your own, and work alongside you as you practice new ways of coping. I welcome people from all backgrounds and affirm identities including body positivity, racial justice, LGBTQ+ communities, sex work, kink, single mothers, and veterans. I use methods such as ACT, CPT, DBT, and trauma-focused care, always adjusting them so they fit your needs and pace. If you’d like support, you can reach me through Insight Therapy Solutions at 888-409-8976. You can also message me or use this link: http://bit.ly/4qHhyBK (Copy and paste it into your browser).
