Work HistoryMy path into this work started long before I opened my own practice. Early in my career, I worked on a F.A.C.T. team (Florida Assertive Community Treatment), supporting individuals with severe mental illness so they could stay stable and out of the hospital. From there, I moved into the substance abuse field, working with clients navigating co-occurring disorders through intensive outpatient programs, support groups, and adolescent programs. I also spent time in residential treatment facilities and various outpatient settings.
I'm trained in EMDR, which is one of my specialties today. I use it to help teens and adults process distressing experiences, big and small, without needing to relive every detail to heal from them. I also offer EMDR Intensives, longer, focused sessions for people who want meaningful progress without waiting weeks between appointments, and I hold Qualified Supervisor status so I can train the next generation of therapists here in Florida.
Before any of this, I actually built a career in Human Resources. I spent years sitting across from people during some of the hardest moments of their professional lives, and I learned firsthand how much people need to feel truly heard, not just managed. That experience, combined with my own history of not feeling heard as a child, is a big part of why I do this work the way I do.
Today, my focus is on anxiety and trauma disorders, and I love working on making lasting change with my clients. Every person who works with me gets an approach built around them. I don't believe in one size fits all therapy.
