Work HistoryI have worked in several different community settings before having branched out to my own private practice. I worked within a maternity medical clinic where I was often working with new moms navigating the challenges and changes of being a new parent, as well as figuring out how they wanted to parent compared to their own experiences with their own parents. I also have some experience working in a general clinic in a small border town, where I assisted clients aged 5-80 with various issues including: anxiety, PTSD, depression, sexual identity, bipolar and general stress. I have also run groups and individual therapy in a high school setting where I worked with teens and on occasion their families as they navigated a new and often confusing phase of their life. Currently my specialty lies in working with adults and young adults in the latinx and LBTQ communities navigate through identifying who they want to be and make sense of the often unjust systems that can be very harmful to individuals of color, queer persons, and neurodiverse individuals. I use EMDR and IFS often in my trauma work to help integrate and decrease charges of certain events and voices that we still carry within ourselves that may be holding us back from being the best version of ourself.
