How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?

Collaboration with other providers is a vital part of my work. I believe that holistic care often leads to the best outcomes, so I partner with doctors, school counselors, psychiatrists, and other professionals to ensure my clients receive comprehensive support. For teens, this might involve working closely with educators or school staff to address academic or social challenges. For young adults, it could mean coordinating with primary care providers or psychiatrists to align treatment approaches. These collaborations allow us to address all aspects of a client’s well-being, from emotional health to physical and environmental factors. Open communication with other providers ensures that everyone is on the same page, working together to help clients achieve their goals and feel supported in all areas of their life.

What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?

One of the biggest barriers for people seeking care today is the stigma surrounding mental health. Many individuals, especially teens and young adults, may feel embarrassed or ashamed to ask for help, fearing judgment from others or worrying that seeking therapy makes them “weak.” This stigma often prevents people from taking the first step toward healing. Another significant barrier is access to care. Long waitlists, high costs, and limited insurance coverage can make therapy feel out of reach for many. Additionally, navigating the overwhelming process of finding the right provider can be daunting, leaving people feeling stuck or unsupported. Addressing these barriers requires fostering a culture of openness around mental health, increasing accessibility, and simplifying the process of connecting with the right care. Everyone deserves a safe space to heal and grow, and I strive to make that process as welcoming and seamless as possible.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to leave sessions with a deeper understanding of themselves and their emotions, along with practical tools they can use in daily life. Together, we’ll explore the challenges you’re facing, identify unhelpful patterns, and develop personalized strategies to address them. You’ll gain skills to manage stress, reframe negative thoughts, and navigate relationships with more confidence. Beyond these tools, clients often experience a renewed sense of hope and self-compassion. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Whether you’re working through depression, anxiety, or navigating a life transition, you can expect to leave each session feeling supported and equipped to take the next step toward growth and healing.

Work History

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with teens, young adults, and families in a variety of settings, helping them navigate challenges like depression, anxiety, and life transitions. My experience in schools allowed me to support adolescents facing academic stress and social pressures, providing them with tools to manage emotions and build resilience. In community clinics, I worked closely with young adults, helping them explore their identities, develop confidence, and tackle feelings of overwhelm. These experiences shaped my approach: a combination of evidence-based techniques like CBT and DBT, tailored to each client’s unique needs. Whether it’s addressing deep feelings of sadness or breaking cycles of negative thinking, my focus has always been on creating a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard and supported. My work has taught me that every challenge is an opportunity for growth, and I’m here to guide clients toward a brighter, more balanced future.
