What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My life took an unexpected turn following a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and near-death experience (NDE) in 2006. This transformation erased my previous sense of self. The sudden change was difficult. I found myself navigating a labyrinth of delusion, mania, rage, and depression. For the first two years, I faced a daily battle to hold onto reality and manage my emotions, until I discovered a way to anchor myself into a reality that was stable. In 2013, I met a teacher who revealed to me the healing powers within.
In 2017, my journey shifted towards counseling when I stumbled upon Ken Wilber’s landmark book Integral Psychology. It was a revelation – my personal healing journey mirrored the universal process of counseling. It turns out that healing happens the same for all of us: by connecting us to a wise source of healing within. Inspired by this insight, I made the decision to become a counselor. My hope? To learn how to guide others on their own paths to healing.
