In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
As a mixed-race woman, I have personally experienced both the short and long-term impacts of differential treatment based on an aspect of my identity as well as passing privilege. Being able to hold both of these experiences allows me to connect more deeply with clients whose lives have also been shaped by one or many aspects of their identity. It is through this lens that I consider how race, culture, identity, biology and family has shaped my clients unique experiences and lives.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I am by nature a warm individual who deeply believes in people's capacity to change and grow. My optimism and belief that everyone is capable of creating healthy lifestyles that support their happiness and wellbeing shines through in my strengths-based approach. I work alongside individuals in building their confidence and empowering them to take an active role in improving their relationships and overall wellbeing.
